The great immigration debate - left wing bias at the BBC
I've just seen Sir Andrew Green of MigrationWatch upbraid the BBC for overestimating the number of Eastern Eurpoean immigrants in the country by not pointing out that many leave.
We are led to believe that Migrationwatch is anti-immigration; but of course it isn't - it's just not as pro-immigration as the rest; but still in favour.
There is a slight contradiction in the position of Migrationwatch and indeed the Tories. Both want some immigration as there are vested interests that need a supply of (relatively) cheap and skilled workforce. They have a financial benefit from this. However, there is the conflict with their political viewpoint and the need to pander to the lowest common denominator in the electorate (Labour is not innocent either).

'The Great Immigration Debate' - six panelists, every one of them in favour of immigration. Typical BBC bias!
Yeah, because Andrew Green of MigrationWatch is really in favoyr of immigration. So are the tories.

Okay mate. It's a point of view I suppose.
I'm a bit confused about how an organisation that consistently argues against immigration can be considered pro-immigration, but there you go.
