I 've just been a bit sick

Is this the vilest front page headline we've ever seen?

For those wondering - the article isn't actually about Muslims kidnapping anyone, although you won't find it on the Star's website. It's about some Muslims suggesting on the internet that the McCanns were responsible for their daughter's kidnapping. You know, similar to what The Star and Express had to print front page apologies about and pay half a mil in fines for a couple of weeks ago.

More at Leo Burrows and Anorak.

Ugh.

Hi 5CC
Back from trip to Easren lands. Can you try to re-post your comment re: Cllr Chris as it sems to have not appeared. I saw Maddie in Poland and have a pic to prove....no wait it was on a Heat-style mag.
Still, it was good to see her when leaving this septic isle (C)(R)

May I address the editor of this newspaper in the lyrics of an ancient British punk song:

I'M SICK TO DEATH
WITH EVERYTHING YOU DO!
AND IF I'M GONNA HAVE A PUKE
YOU BET YOUR LIFE I'LL PICK ON YOU!

Eric: I'll repost as soon as I remember what I said!

I think you'll only get big money for your Maddie pic if you managed to get a shot of her in close proximity to someone brown, or failing that, someone wearing a scarf. If you didn't, you can always photoshop in that woman with her two fingers up that keeps being shown in the Express.

Yakoub: That pretty much nails it.

In several centuries, people haven't changed that much as regards their ontology when it comes to a people that they want to continually demonise.
In early mediaeval times, the demise of Hugh of Lincoln killed by persons unknown was laid at the feet of the local Jewish community and gave rise to pogroms against Lincoln's Jewry as well as the canonisation of Hugh as a martyr.
This sort of thing is extremely disturbing at the moment, especially from journalists who harp on about protecting people's freedom and dignity. Obviously certain ethnic groups [blond-haired,blue-eyed 'normal' and Christian] have more rights to protection than any other- especially when 'the danger to children'card is played against a significantly different ethnic group. And the red-top tabloids tar Islam as a whole as being backward and 'Mediaeval'in other articles!
